How Your Inventory Works
To open your inventory, press [I] on PC or click on the backpack in the quick menu.
The Inventory Screen
Inventory/Clothing Screen
At the very top of the screen, you may toggle between the inventory and the clothing screen. You may not equip clothing through the inventory but only through the clothing screen.
Weight Indicator
How much weight you're currently carrying.
Sorting Menu
On the left side of the sorting bar, you may sort by name, item condition, or item weight. On the right side of the bar, you may sort by all items, fire supplies, first aid, clothing, food, tools and weapons, or crafting.
Items Section
In the items section, click once on an item to display its properties on the right side of the screen. Double clicking on the item uses or equips it (except for clothing which is done in the clothing screen). Not all items can be used or equiped through the inventory screen.
Clicking once on an item provides a menu of actions you can perform in the lower right corner. Not all actions are available with all items.
The weight shown for each item is the combined weight of the full stack. For instance, if you have 5 sticks, the weight displayed is the combined weight of all 5 sticks.
